A time-tested name, Chatterbox has gained an unshakable reputation over half a century with their world-famous chicken rice. Charming generations of diners since their opening in 1971, they’ve defied the change of time and trends, maintaining a strong presence as one of Orchard Road’s beloved icons.

At the newly-minted Hilton Orchard Singapore, Chatterbox makes a grand return. One of the most anticipated re-openings this year, the restaurant unveils a fresh new look. Flushed with plenty of natural light against cosy chic interiors, the space is uplifting in its distinctive blend of nostalgia and modernity.

Still a fiercely-guarded recipe, their renowned Mandarin Chicken Rice – a vestige of the former Mandarin Singapore – continues to be the star of their show. Specifically using only chickens that weigh around 2kg each, Chef Liew has perfected his unique “steam-cook” method to render succulent and juicy chickens each and every time.

Standing strong through several waves of refurbishment over the years, this beloved coffee house within a five-star hotel provides a quality dining experience with their brilliantly-executed Asian and local menu.

Other key signatures of the brand include their robust Lobster Laksa, the Chatterbox Rojak, and Signature Coconut Ice Cream. Helmed by Executive Chef Liew Tien Heong, the reopening also boasts an array of specially-curated new dishes, some of which are modern iterations of our favourite Asian classics.

Highlights that you have to try include the Mackerel & Crab Otah-Otah, with snow crab claw meat and a homemade spice mix, Lemon Butter Tiger Prawns, a Chef Liew original featuring twice-fried shelled tiger prawns cloaked in lemon butter sauce, and the unassuming but irresistibly fragrant Wok-fried Sambal Wing Beans.
