<p>Dessert parlor <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sugarhaus" target="_blank"><strong>Sugarhaus </strong></a>has undergone yet another revamp; less than a year after its rebranding from Bing Qi Lin in Seletar Hills, the ice cream parlor located in Serene Centre has expanded to include a larger menu and an all-new speakeasy-style steakhouse.</p>
<p>Now, Sugarhaus showcases a selection of European-inspired homemade ice cream, with 18 unique flavors on rotation. New flavors like Hibiscus Yogurt and Sour Cherry—made with amarena cherries imported from Italy—join the menu; a single scoop costs $3.50, while premium flavors are priced at $4.30 per scoop. And if you recognized Sugarhaus for their photogenic Taro Galaxy Cake, you’ll be pleased to know it’s been tastefully recreated into a Galaxy Tart ($8), made with a white chocolate mirror glaze a little too otherworldly to eat.</p>
<p>But the star of the reopening has to be Fat Belly, the 10-seater steakhouse located within the parlor that operates only at night (6pm-10pm). They specialize in alternative cuts of steak, for the simple fact that they tend to boast stronger and more robust flavors, according to the chefs. For now, the menu remains small, with just Short Rib ($25) and The Flat Iron ($22), but new cuts will be introduced seasonally. Sides like the Creamed Kale ($5) and the Pancetta Mac & Cheese ($5) should keep you busy, in the meantime.</p>
<p>It seems time will tell if Sugarhaus can usurp Island Creamery as the reigning dessert house in the Bukit Timah area, but we're certainly not complaining.</p>
