Come Oct 9, the famed Japanese patisserie Henri Charpentier opens its doors at Dempsey Hill. Essentially a French patisserie with a Japanese touch, the 4,400 sq.ft. dessert spot takes cues from its Ginza outlet with touches of pink in a modern and contemporary space. Divided into three areas, there will be a shop selling boxed treats, a museum displaying the brand’s history, and a restaurant section seating up to 80 people—with a 30-seater alfresco area.
Special Singapore-only items also feature on the menu with dishes like meringue, coupe peche and four different dessert trolleys with made-to-order goodies like the Dome ($29), a spherical strawberry-based dessert with chocolate and almonds. If you plan on checking it out next week, don’t miss their signature Crepe Suzette ($22) that’s flambeed tableside and made with Grand Marnier and fresh orange juice.
