A result of founder Hoh Loyi’s dedication to the craft of bread-making, Champion Bolo Bun’s offerings are a testament and culmination of years of hard work under her master in Hong Kong. Uncompromising on quality and authenticity, the store’s menu places a spotlight on bolo buns.
The buns get their name from resembling the rough geometric exterior of pineapples (“bolo” is a transliteration of the Chinese term for pineapples). Authentic bolo buns have a distinct crust that is crispy and subtly sweet.
Using traditional methods, recipe, and equipment, Champion Bolo Bun pride themselves on their standards and taste – specially crafted for Singaporeans. Biting through that signature crust, you’ll find nothing but fluffy goodness underneath.
Freshly baked on-site every 15 minutes, they offer four different choices of bolo buns: the Classic, Classic with Butter, Curry Potato, and a serving of 4 Mini Classics.
The Classic presents a taste of the traditional favourite, an unembellished showing of the bun’s golden-brown crust and fluffiness within. Order a Classic with Butter to elevate your experience with a generous slab of rich melting butter from New Zealand, tucked into the middle of the bun. For those who prefer bite-sized portions, the Mini Classics are 4 little replicas of the Classic – perfect for easy picking at our office desks or for sharing with friends and colleagues.
For a stronger punch, go for their Curry Potato. Featuring a delightful balance of fragrance, light spiciness, and the irresistible bite of potatoes in curry, the flavours of their Curry Potato contrast beautifully with the sweet lightness of the bolo buns that envelop them.
