The first Singapore outlet of Sydney-based gourmet burger restaurant Charlie & Co. is now open at the ION Orchard.
The brand is named for Hamburger Charlie (Hamburger Chalie) of Seymour, Wisconsin, who claims to have created the hamburger. And the Singapore location is a sleek and modern space with natural wood, cowhide and stone accents.
Expect burger patties made from Australian Wagyu beef sandwiched between fresh baked buns including gluten-free options. The most basic is the Classic Charlie Burger ($15), which comes with a choice of aged cheddar, brie or blue cheese. The Mighty Charlie Burger ($17), on the other hand, is tricked out with aged cheddar, prime back bacon, egg and aioli.
Besides beef burgers, there are also items like panko-herb crusted Roadside Chicken Burger ($15) and chargrilled sirloin steak sandwich, also know as the New Yorker Burger ($17). For sides, order up sea salt fries ($7), parmesan and truffle fries ($8), onion rings ($7) or the seasonal salad ($7).
