If there’s one thing we can never have too much of, it’s burgers. And joining the thriving burger scene in Singapore is no average chain; some time in the third quarter of the year, Marina Bay Sands will welcome New York burger phenomenon Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer.
As the name suggests, the restaurant deals with classic craft burgers and craft beers—but also their world famous CrazyShake milkshakes. Michelin-starred chef Joe Isidori helms this great American luncheonette experience, together with nightclub developer Chris Barish, who’s been behind institutions in the US like Gordon Ramsay Steak and Martini Park.
Black Tap at Marina Bay Sands will be the brand’s first outlet in Southeast Asia, and boy are we in for a treat. For the main event, there’s Black Tap’s iconic All-American Burger, Texan Burger, and Greg Norman Burger—wagyu beef topped with buttermilk-dill, blue cheese and arugula on a soft potato bun. Vegetarian options are available too, like the Falafel Burger and deconstructed burger salads. For sides, hunger after everything from the Crispy Chicken Sandwich to Spicy Korean BBQ wings and hand-cut fries.
Cookie, Cotton Candy, Sweet N’ Salty
And while the craft beers on tap have made it into the brand’s name, it’s Black Tap’s CrazyShake milkshakes that are sure to be a big hit with diners, given how inventive and camera-friendly they are. The shake menu offers original CrazyShake favorites like the Cookie Shake, Cotton Candy and Sweet N’ Salty; plus your bog-standard Chocolate and Vanilla if you’re keeping your sugar intake low-ish.
Pulling it all together is a classic American luncheonette setup with a distinctive New York feel—not quite Riverdale-esque, but still old-school cool. The dedicated playlist of ‘90s hip hop and ‘80s pop music should put you in the perfect shake-sipping mood. Details on the opening date to come soon, but for now, you can find out more information here.
