Gaig

The Singapore offshoot of Michelin-starred Restaurant Gaig from Barcelona doesn’t just bear its Catalan sister’s namesake—it shares as well the same fiercely guarded family recipes and traditional Catalan dishes, passed down through five generations of Gaig chefs. Not to be missed is Gaig’s traditional cannelloni, a comforting dish of cannelloni pasta sheets, stuffed with roasted beef and pork and bathed in a truffle cream sauce. It’s a warm and satisfying dish proudly touted as the restaurant’s signature, and made from a 150-year old recipe traditionally served during Christmas in Barcelona.

Propeller

For rousing views of Keppel Harbour and Sentosa from the comfort of a plush rooftop bar, head on over to Bay Hotel Singapore’s Propeller. In fact, they’re the only ones offering that serene vantage, and if you manage to come at the right time, you’ll even be treated to a fireworks display from over the Sentosa Boardwalk. They’ve got a good selection of cocktails – like their signature vodka-based Propeller Bay – as well as premium reds, whites and bottled craft beers. Yummy bar bites like beef cubes, truffle fries and pizzas complete the experience.

Wild Honey Scotts Square

All-day breakfasts, warm surrounds and great coffee and booze are the reasons we all know and love Wild Honey for. You can count on them for dependable classics like the English—a delicious plate of scrambled eggs, back bacon, Cumberland pork sausage, sautéed mushrooms, baked beans, breakfast potatoes, grilled vine ripened tomato and signature brioche—among many other dishes in their comprehensive menu. Whatever you order, have it with a cuppa of Common Man Coffee, teas from TWG, or if you’re in the mood, cocktails.

EagleWings Loft

There are no lack of cafes to get your comfort food and coffee fixes in Bukit Timah, but EagleWings Loft at King Albert Park stands out with its nautical theme, hearty menu and sweet treats. Their signature Treasures in a Bun—a puffy steamed bun stuffed with slowbraised pork belly seasoned in caramelized ginger chili sauce and crunchy fried shallots—is a must-try. Or have the indulgent Foie Gras Wagyu Burger before ending on a sugary high with the photo-worthy Chocolate Cherry Dome.

Publico Ristorante

The first thing you’ll notice upon arriving at Publico Ristorante is its homely open kitchen equipped with twin wood-fired pizza ovens. As you can expect from any Italian establishment, pastas and pizzas dominate the menu here. Order the Tartufata, an expertly done pie of porcini mushrooms and smoked scamorza drenched in truffle. Be sure take a whiff of the aromas as it’s being taken hot out of the oven. The Florentine T-bone steak is also a satisfying option, best enjoyed with their wines (an extensive list), cocktails and beers.

Racines

Feast on both French classics and local Chinese cuisine at Sofitel Singapore City Centre’s all-day dining restaurant Racines. Tantalising options include the Traditional Lobster Bisque with Coral Oil and Nyonya Style Stir-Fried Calamari. You can also find dishes that celebrate the best of both worlds, like frog legs done the French way (with pan-fried pink garlic, parsley and wild mushroom emulsion) or Chinese (stir-fried with spicy szechuan salt). Did we mention Racines even has its own apiary?

Shin Minori

By now an institution of casual Japanese dining, Shin Minori at Katong needs little introduction. Come for the truly affordable a la carte buffet that offers all the items you crave for—slices of raw seafood, tempura, hand rolls, maki rolls and sushi. A favourite has got to be the Spider Temaki, a crispy soft shell crab hand roll that always has customers ordering multiple portions. Or get the Harvest Maki Roll—a delectable rice roll of tempura shrimp, avocado, almond and coconut flakes, and dripped with a sweet and tangy mango eel sauce.
