Forget Restaurant Week. Things are getting kicked up a notch with Singapore’s inaugural Restaurant Month. Organized by the Restaurant Association of Singapore, it’s a nod to the island’s SG50 celebrations through food and will be happening Jul 1 through Aug 10.
50 restaurants around town will create 50 brand new dishes that highlight local produce, with a twist. Local ingredients include fish from kelongs around the island, vegetables and local farm eggs. Expect dishes like laksa-marinated barramundi sourced from a local fish farm by the Timbre Group.
Plus, it’s not all about the coolest new establishments either. There’s a mix of Western, Asian and modern restaurants, but still involves heritage restaurants (read: restaurants even our parents frequented) like Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant, Red Star Restaurant, Islamic Restaurant and Fatty Weng Restaurant.
