<p>Mexican food never looked as good as at <a href="http://www.comidamexsg.com.sg/" target="_blank"><strong>Comida Mexicana</strong></a>, the new kid on the block at East Coast Road and a welcome addition to the Mexican food scene here.</p>
<p>Headed by Vivian Wee, Director of Margarita’s at Dempsey Hill, Comida Mexicana brings a tantalizing spread of Mexican dishes created from scratch using freshly imported ingredients from Mexico and the USA. Prepare your tastebuds for the tangy flavors and exotic spices in the sauces, salsa dips and marinades, which, like any decent Mex joint should do, hold their own against the mains.</p>
<p>On the menu are elevated classics like the Enrollados ($18), a wheat tortilla filled with chicken, Monterey Jack cheese and jalapeno, coated in an egg wash and fried; Chorizo with Red Wine ($24), and guacamole-centric dishes. The star dishes, though, are Mexican platters packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. Skip the burrito and taco options and try the Carnitas ($32), a Mexican pulled pork dish with tortilla and extensive seasoning, or the alcohol-marinated beef steak platter Carne Asada ($52); both are good contenders for a family dinner or group date.</p>
<p>The setting is still very much casual—a 1,200sqft space of art deco patterned tiling and colourful wooden chairs straight out of a fiesta; a party worth checking out.</p>
