If you’re into tasting wine before committing to a bottle, or just like to try something new, mark these two wine events into your calendar.
We’ve already written about Wine Fiesta happening Oct 23-25 at Clifford Square. You’ll get to taste over 350 wines from over 70 wineries at this three-day affair, as well as attend some 40 masterclasses by wine experts. Plus, there’s delish food by chefs Malcolm Lee of Candlenut and Bjorn Shen of Artichoke. And if you spend $200 at any Straits Wine Company stores, you’ll get two free tickets (worth $50 each) and you can top-up $50 for another pair of tickets.
But if the outdoor wine fest proves a little too hot to handle, head over to Wine Discovery Weekend that’s happening Oct 17-18. Held at the cool multi-purpose APS Lifestyle Gallery (near Robertson Quay) that’s held events like 9MCM, there are wine tastings, wine pairing dinners and walkabouts lined up.
There are bottles from over 40 wineries, with dedicated booths for 10 visiting wineries where you can chat up the various winemakers. There are also a bunch of free masterclasses you can attend, or just browse for the latest wine gadgets like fridges and various accessories. Tickets go for $45, with a $20 wine voucher.
