Love ‘em or hate ‘em, durians are the undeniable King of Fruits. Their creamy flesh and signature pungency has created fans and haters alike.
If you belong to the former group, you’ll be happy to know that Goodwood Park Hotel’s annual Durian Fiesta is making its royal return come Mar 14-Jul 26. Old favourites will be accompanied by seven new creations this year, and it’s gonna be a major celebration as it coincides with the heritage property’s 120th anniversary.
On the new lineup are decadent D24 durian creations. A standout has got to be the D24 Galaxy Ice Cream Roll ($62 per roll/$15 per piece), a highly Insta-worthy (thanks to its starry blue outer layer) version of the hotel’s durian ice cream cake that they have been rolling out since 2011.
For something refreshing, try the new D24 Summer Dream ($72 per cake/$12 per slice), that looks as amazing as it tastes thanks to good use of fruits and flowers. If dining in, give the D24 Pavlova and D24 Coffee Pavlova a taste. Both are aromatic, creamy treats that pay homage to Anna Pavlova, the world famous Russian ballerina who once performed at the hotel in the 1920s.

But of course, classic favourites like the plump Mao Shan Wang Power Puff ($22.80) and pulp-filled Mousse Cake ($72), as well as the irresistible D24 Crepe ($14 each) are all available too, if that’s what you’ve always fancied.
Just make sure to keep an appropriate talking distance when meeting up with others after your feast.
Durian Fiesta 2020 happens Mar 14-Jul 26 at Goodwood Park Hotel.
