This weekend’s edition of the Epicurean Market features tons of celeb chefs peddling amuse-bouche portions of their culinary delights, lots of wine and cocktail tastings courtesy of retailers like The Straits Wine Company and cocktail bar 28 HongKong Street, and masterclasses with the likes of Nancy Silverton and Tetsuya Wakuda.
At Mario Batali and Nancy Silverton’s Mozza booth you can get Italian fare like Prosciutto ($14) and Aglio Olio ($12) pizzas, as well as Orecchiette pasta with fennel sausage ($12), while over at David Thompson’s much-awaited Long Chim booth he’ll be debuting Thai favorites like Larb Chiang Mai ($7), a minced duck with shallots, mint and spices; Nahm Yaa Gai ($10), kanom jin noodles with chicken and wild ginger sauce; and Sai Grok Isaan ($5), northeastern-style pork sausage.
We also told you about David Myers’ yet-to-be-named restaurant taking over Fuse lounge in the first quarter of next year. If you can’t wait to sample his stuff, here’s your chance with fusion dishes like steak tartare ($12) in Asian-y marinade; juicy prawns with passionfruit and salted plum creme fraice ($12) and his unmissable (and highly addictive) caramel-sweet soy popcorn ($5).
Don’t miss Swiss Butchery’s stall serving fresh cold cuts (think whole legs of prosciutto and Iberico) where you can also try Black Cow’s pure milk vodka and cheddar cheese, as well as The Cheese Artisan’s huge wheel of gorgonzola drizzled with white truffle honey.
