Italian-inspired vegetarian restaurant Sufood from Taiwan arrives in Singapore this May

Having a meat-free meal isn’t as difficult as you think. Come May 23, look out for Italian-inspired vegetarian restaurant Sufood (under mega Taiwanese F&B brand Wowprime and local group Putien) at Raffles City Shopping Centre for pocket-friendly bites and lots of greens.

We got to fly all the way to the brand’s hometown in Taichung, Taiwan for a taste of the real thing before its official opening here in Singapore. No, we weren’t presented a spread of mock meats (as you would normally expect at a Chinese vegetarian dining spot). Instead, we enjoyed an eight-course meal (note: they count in bread and drinks as a course each) consisting creations such as vegetable calzone, Mediterranean vegetable skewers and sesame panna cotta.

Portions were hearty, and needless to say, it was mostly clean-tasting—with the exception of a few sinful choices, like the signature Star Pizza, which is topped with condiments cream cheese and mustard sauce. The best part? Prices go as low as $25. The menu’s set to be exactly the same, with ingredients sourced regionally from places like Thailand and Malaysia.

Sufood is at #02-19 Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Rd., 6333-5338.
