Winefamily Gathering (Oct 19)
An informal and fun way to get your feet wet when it comes to the confusing and highly complicated world of wine. Taste New and Old World wines that features some relatively unknown wineries and grape varietals like Aglianico and Falanghina. There are two slots: one in the morning and one in the afternoon, book your tickets soon.
Singapore Wine Fiesta 2014 (Oct 23-26)
One of the island’s biggest wine festivals is back. This year The Straits Wine Company ropes in more than 70 different winemakers with over 300 different bottles for sampling and purchase. There’s a wine-pairing dinner, as well as lots of guest speakers and wine connoisseurs. If it’s your first time, fret not, there are free masterclasses going on every day (so you can act like you know what you’re talking about at that next fancy dinner party).
Whisky Live 2014: Collections (Oct 25)
This one-day only whisk(e)y extravaganza in the historic Raffles Hotel features some of the rarest and most premium bottles of the amber elixir. On top of masterclasses and tasting booths, there’s also a Collector’s Room that showcases 40 of the world’s most prized bottles. Plus, restaurants and bars like Burnt Ends, 28HKS and Anti:dote will be there to cook up and shake up some good food and mean cocktails.
