Ever since restaurants and bars like The Library, Taratata Bistrot and 12-year old Restaurant Ember set up shop, Keong Saik Road has been attracting the coolest dining concepts. Even though it’s been hip for a while now, a new onslaught of openings has taken it to another level.
Now home to famed Potato Head Folk, it’s also welcomed other newcomers like casual French bistro with an Asian twist 31 Bar & Kitchen and new martini bar that is an offshoot from its Club Street location Bartini @ Keong Saik. The recently-revamped The Study, formerly Keong Saik Snacks, by Michelin-starred Jason Atherton, also gets a cool new menu that features the chef’s famed modern British food like chargrilled asparagus with beetroot and burrata ($17); braised ox cheek with scallops, smoked bacon and celeriac ($36); and English ale snapper fish & chips classically served with mushy peas and tartar sauce ($33).
Come September, even Restaurant Ember will roll out an entirely new menu under the care of Chef Sufian, after an extensive renovation.
