Next weekend, the often-overlooked alleyway sandwiched in between Jiak Chuan and Keong Saik will be home to Gin Lane, a raucous all-gin party.
A part of this year’s Gin Jubilee, which is happening Sep 6-12, the street will be filled with pop-up bars from places like The Library, Oxwell & Co, Rabbit Hole and LongPlay, all shaking up gin & tonic creations. There are G&Ts like Oxwell & Co’s lemon and dill-forward Hendrick’s creation, as well as The Library’s Monkey 47 gin, strawberry and pink peppercorn cocktail.
Plus, they’ve collaborated with Hendrick’s, Botanist and Monkey 47 gins for special entertainment pop-ups—last year’s involved a photobooth with Baroque period props and various DJs spinning cool beats all night long. Drinks at this event go for $10-20.
If you can’t make it to Gin Lane, you’ll still be able to sample the G&Ts at the 15 different bars, including Ah Sam Cold Drink Stall, Long Chim, L’Aiglon and Sugarhall, participating in the Gin Jubilee at your own pace. There are also various workshops and masterclasses happening throughout the week. Latest updates here.
