So many fancy restaurants, and all you’re craving for is a plate of rojak with a side of roasted duck? We hear you. The recently revamped Chinatown Food Street underwent a whopping $5 million dollar facelift and now features Singapore’s most iconic hawkers and restaurants, all in one convenient spot.
There’s a total of 24 hawker stalls and six shophouse restaurants to check out, so be prepared to make several trips here (operating hours are from 11am-11pm daily). Note that the place is sheltered (so you can drop by even in wet weather) and boasts an internal spot cooling system a.k.a. “aircon” so you won’t pass out when the sun’s acting up. We definitely like the sound of that.
Tenants include big names like Tiong Bahru Meng Kee Roast Duck (Unit #7), Geylang Lor 9 Fresh Frog Porridge (Unit #10), Adam Road Nasi Lemak (Unit #18), Serangoon Raju Indian Cuisine (Unit #17) and Joo Chiat Ang Moh Noodle House (Unit #15). As for the restaurants in the shophouses, there are outlets such as Chen Fu Ji Restaurant (Unit #23), Fatty Weng Restaurant (Unit #37, #39 and #41) and Holland Village X.O. Fish Head Bee Hun Restaurant (Unit #15 and #17).
