MBS reopens signature restaurants for dine-in, launches new takeaway platform

With the reopening of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands last week (since Jun 19), many headed down to the iconic establishment once again to get their much-needed dose of retail therapy.

If you were one of them who headed down, you’d have realised not every shop has opened yet, including the many celebrity and signature restaurants they are so known for. Starting this weekend (Jun 27) however, MBS will be reopening for dine-in (yes!) five of their famed venues—namely Black Tap, Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Mott 32 and Yardbird Southern Table & Bar—with the rest reopening progressively in July.

During this initial period, expect there to be stringent hygiene and social distancing measures put in place. Only groups of five or less are allowed per table, reservations must be made prior to your visit, temperature screening will be conducted, and most restaurants will be operating at reduced hours. Sale of alcohol will also cease by 10pm and consumption by 10.30pm.

Do note that if you’re planning to head down, the mall is currently only open to their Sands Rewards loyalty programme members, both as a means to better control the crowd and for tenants to first get used to operating in the new norm. Sign-up for the entry level Lifestyle tier is completely free.

A new Gourmet Takeaway platform will also be launching come Jul 4. This means that restaurants operated by MBS will, for the first time, be available for takeaway. So if you’re still not comfortable with dining-in during this phase, this is the option to go for.

You won’t even need to sign up as a Sands Rewards member to access the takeaway service, since self-collection and drive-through pick-up is all done via a counter located by the entrance of Sands Expo and Convention Centre. This means you don’t have to enter the mall to collect your meals.

You can always choose to pick up your order at the restaurants themselves of course, but the counter allows you to collect several orders from different venues all at once.

So if you, like us, have been hankering for one of Lavo’s giant meatballs or Yardbird’s juicy fried chicken, your cravings can all soon be sorted.
