The Marmalade Pantry is set to return to ION Orchard this February

When news of The Marmalade Pantry’s flagship closure first hit us in July last year, we wondered where else we will be going to get our random cupcake fix sorted the next time we’re busy shopping in town.

But fret not, the third floor space in ION Orchard it used to occupy may now be taken by Violet Oon’s new all-day dining concept, but The Marmalade Pantry is set to reopen just a floor above, in a similarly open low-walled space sporting all the things you loved about them and more.

The first thing you’ll notice about the renewed Marmalade Pantry flagship will be the design. Gone are the black and whites, and in its place is a lush garden theme with plenty of soft woods and greenery. The nearly 2,400 square feet space seats 80, and is still meant to be that cosy respite from all the hectic shopping it always was.

Food wise, you’ll find the same revamped menu with classics currently served at their other two outposts in Novena and Tanjong Pagar, but with several exclusives, such as the Maryland Crab Cakes ($26) served with homemade tartar sauce, and a Spicy Sriracha Chicken Burger ($24) that comes with a side of parmesan fries.

We’re also highly anticipating the new Afternoon Tea Set ($60 for two) that has all the usual indulgent items you could hope for, from freshly baked scones and sandwiches to sweet tarts and pots of artisanal tea. And if you’re like us, you’ll be topping up $15 for a well-deserved bottle of Moscato.

The opening day isn’t far away either. Though a fixed date is yet announced, we’re pretty sure it’ll welcome its first customers by the last week of February 2019. Also, a certain local budding chef that has won the hearts of many Singaporeans in a popular cooking show will be creating special treats just for Marmalade Pantry’s opening. Stay tuned people.

The Marmalade Pantry flagship will be located at #04-11a and #04-27 to #04-32 ION Orchard.
