Whether you’re a dedicated restauranteur or excited foodie, the MICHELIN Guide awards bring about some of the biggest hype every year for the local F&B industry. Recognising establishments that offer exceptional food at moderate prices, MICHELIN announces the new list of Bib Gourmand awardees for the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2022.
Comprising a total of 67 venues this year, the list sees 9 new awardees being inducted – 5 restaurants, 3 hawker stalls, and 1 street food establishment – bringing the tally up to 22 restaurants, 40 hawker stalls, and 5 street food establishments with a Bib Gourmand recommendation in Singapore.
Paying tribute to Singapore’s multi-cultural and unique gastronomic landscape, MICHELIN celebrates our diversity and dynamism with deep explorations and recognition of our hawker stalls and street food.
Among the new restaurants are Cumi Bali, which serves authentic Indonesian cuisine with homemade sauces, made with a myriad of natural spices, Fool, a lively wine bar with a fascinating selection of snacks and small plates that showcase precise execution and plating, One Prawn & Co, an undisputed go-to destination for bowls of prawn noodles loaded with flavour, Unagi Tei, where live eels are shipped directly from Japan then char-grilled to perfection, and Un-Yang-Kor-Dai, a specialist in Isan cuisine from northeastern Thailand.
New hawker stalls receiving the accolade this year include Hai Nan Xing Zhou Beef Noodle and Lixin Teochew Fishball Noodles in Kim Keat Palm Market & Food Centre, and Kelantan Kway Chap & Pig Organ Soup in Berseh Food Centre.
The sole new street food stall Bib Gourmand recommendation went to Sing Lung HK Cheong Fun in Beach Road, boasting velvety Hong Kong-style rice noodle rolls made to order.
