Fifty dining establishments have been awarded the prestigious Bib Gourmand award in this year’s Michelin Guide—12 more than last year. Of the 50, more than 20 of the recipients are hawker stalls. A Noodle Story, Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Claypot Laksa, and Maxwell Food Centre’s Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice are some of the hawker stalls that maintained their Bib Gourmand award from last year.
There were also 17 new establishments that were awarded. These include Lao Fu Zi Fried Kway Teow from Old Airport Road Food Centre, Little India’s Muthu Curry, as well as nasi lemak favorite The Coconut Club.

The Bib Gourmand award was established in 1997, and recognizes restaurants, hotels and other F&B establishments for their value-for-money standing. Restaurants are scored on their menu offerings priced below $45, and thereafter selected by Michelin inspectors. The entire selection of the Michelin Guide Singapore 2018 will be revealed next week, so stay tuned.
