Here’s yet another reason to hit hip Kampong Glam, not that you need one: brand spanking new java joint Viking Coffee which opened on March 21.
Their locally roasted house blend is a medley of PNG, Ethiopian and Brazilian beans, with single shots of espresso going for $3. While the kitchen’s not up and running quite yet (we’ve been told it will be soon), but when it is, you can expect bites like Eggs Ben ($8.90) and ham & cheese sandwich ($8).
They’ve even launched a “Donate Your Old Books Campaign.” Simply bring in a pre-loved book of your choice, the more the merrier, and get an iblend (ice blended coffee) on the house. If you’d rather a hot cuppa, simply Like their Facebook page and get a caffè latte for a mere $2.50.
This cozy café is also a gallery and retail store, showcasing creations from local artists and designers. See a painting you like while you’re getting your dose of caffeine? You could very well bring it home (if the price is right).
