Booze bulletin: a ginseng Negroni (what?) and other TCM-inspired cocktails

How about a party after some Spanish food? Or perhaps just mulling over a cocktail or two? These two new additions to the drinking scene should get you planning for your next night out.

For die-hard cocktail geeks, Tras Street’s Jekyll & Hyde rolls out a summer menu that includes drinks like Pierside Picnic made with gin and a touch of spicy nori seaweed; Summertime Moonshine with sake, honeydew and pandan syrup; and Vineyard Rendezvous, which is a concoction of whisky and grape liqueur. In addition, they’ve also got a new TCM-inspired menu called Yin Yang with ingredients like wolfberries, ginseng and even Brand’s Chicken Essence.

Fine dining Spanish restaurant Catalunya takes full advantage of their standalone bayfront structure by introducing their first-ever Friday night party series. Kicking off on August 8, the party comes complete with catchy tunes and lots of cocktails by the deft hands of Adrian Battle. In conjunction with the joint’s second anniversary, Catalunya has extended their hours in order to start the party at 11pm. So line yourselves with some jamon and croquetas and dance the night away.
