Located within a two-storey conservation shophouse along Amoy Street, Avenue 87 offers innovative eats with a local twist thanks to inspiration drawn from the two chef-owners’ backgrounds and childhood in Singapore. Think dishes such as the AHK Seabass that’s a modern rendition of the typical hawker sliced fish soup and the Octopus which is a refreshing take on the Singaporean sambal stingray. Lunch and dinner sets are available Mondays through Fridays, with just dinner available on Saturdays. Also keep an eye out for the swanky upstairs lounge that will open early next year.

American burger chain Shake Shack has finally unveiled its fourth location in Singapore at Suntec City, and with its opening comes a limited-time ShackMeister menu that lends a twist to the usual, all-time favourites. Enter the ShackMeister burger which offers a heaping pile of crisp, fried shallots resting atop a 100 percent Angus beef patty; as well as the ShackMeister Dog and ShackMeister Fries that provides that extra crunch too. An outlet-exclusive at Suntec City is the Matcha Made in Heaven, a delicious strawberry-matcha Concrete dessert. The ShackMeister Trio (burger, dog and fries) is available at all Shake Shack Singapore outlets from Oct 5-Nov 16.
