It was only a matter of time: the glorious Victoria Theatre is finally getting a fancy restaurant

It seems like the inaugural launch of the Michelin Guide here in Singapore has done us some good and put us on the map (not that we weren’t already). We’ve recently seen the openings of two Michelin-starred restaurants at Pacific Plaza that are just next to each other: Kam’s Roast and Tsuta. To add on to the burgeoning list of famous restaurants from around the world is this Italian restaurant by chef Davide Oldani, slated to open at the beautiful and historic Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall on Dec 17.

As the owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant D’O in Italy, which sees high-profile names like Giorgio Armani and Andrea Bocelli as regular diners, Oldani was the one responsible for Cucina Pop, a unique culinary philosophy he’ll be bringing to to the new restaurant here, FOO’D by Davide Oldani, alongside rich Italian flavors. Slated to open next month, they will be offering three and four-course meals during lunch and a heartier five and seven-course meals for dinner. Though the full menu is still in the works, the restaurant will be showcasing some of his signature dishes such as the mousse made from Grana Pandano cheese served with caramelized onions and ice-cream and the lettuce ice-cream paired with lemon curd and spiky meringue.

FOO’D by Davide Oldani (#01-01 Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall,11 Empress Place) will be operate from 12pm-3pm and 6pm-11pm from Monday-Saturday (bar operates from 6pm-12am) when it opens on Dec 17.
