Char isn’t your usual traditional zi char stall. This new casual Chinese joint on Guillemard Road serves roast meats (think melt-in-your-mouth char siew) together with a range of craft beers and ciders.
Menu highlights are roasts like the crispy pork belly (from $12), Char’s special honey barbequed pork that’s a mix of salty and sweet (from $15) and the duck (from $14). Other classic Chinese dishes are also on offer, including steamed pork with salted egg ($11) and fish cooked with black bean sauce (seasonal pricing).
Drink wise, labels like Thatcher’s Pear Cider ($11) and St. Bernardus Witbier (which goes well with the roast duck, $10) are available.
