Singapore Food Festival returns with live masterclasses, tours and secret menus at local restaurants

Our country’s love for food is simply undeniable, so it makes sense that the Singapore Food Festival regularly returns year after year to champion and spotlight local cuisine. And in case you were wondering, this year will be no different, as the behemoth SFF 2021 is set to bring gourmands more than 50 different gastronomic and drinking experiences via a unique hybrid edition.

Now in its 28th edition, SFF 2021 will happen over three weekends from Aug 27-Sep 21, to treat locals to exciting tours, workshops and even secret menus at restaurants in town.

First, check out live masterclasses (both free and paid), conducted by renowned chefs including Artichoke’s Bjorn Shen and Tigerlily Patisserie’s Maxine Ngooi as they take to the virtual stage to teach cooking and baking classes.

Then, mark your calendars for Virtual Food Experiences that showcase innovative local businesses like Koh Fah Farm, so all may get an online tour of their fabled hydroponics farm. For those who prefer physical tours, just check out the Kim Guan Guan Factory Tour to uncover the history and heritage behind the brewing and roasting at one of Singapore’s oldest kopi suppliers. Local vegan food tours are also available as part of the Singapore Vegan Festival, happening in conjunction with SFF 2021 from Aug 27-Sep 5.

But Singaporeans will probably be most eager to learn of the new secret menus coming to restaurants across the city. For instance, Holy Crab will unveil a crab-filled kueh pie tee dish at its locale in Arcade @The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, while The Feather Blade’s laksa-inspired, surf-and-turf burger makes a comeback alongside a Milo Cocktail as part of a bundle meal.

Finally, you can also check out other partnership workshops including the Make your own Ang Ku Kueh Workshop as well as Museum of Ice Cream’s Cocktail and Ice Cream Pairing Workshop: Sips and Scoops. Just check out the full line-up here.

Looks like there’ll be plenty to eat and do this end-August.
