Three Michelin-starred Joel Robuchon Restaurant to close this month

It’s a worrying sign for the local F&B industry that the only restaurant in Singapore to currently hold the highest accolade accorded by the Michelin Guide is set to close by the end of this month, according to a report by The Business Times released today (Jun 7).

The top establishment of the group of Michelin-starred and celebrity fine dining restaurants at Resorts World Sentosa, Joel Robuchon, as well as its sister venue L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, are both closing by Jun 30, though the latter might reopen in Orchard Road some time in the future.

This closure comes hot on the heels of two Michelin-starred Restaurant Andre closing earlier this year on Feb 14. It remains to be seen how the 2018 edition of the Michelin Guide Singapore will unfold following the exit of these two renowned eateries, and as the industry continues to feel the brunt of an increasingly competitive environment.
