Two big chefs face off at Artichoke

It seems like Artichoke’s been capitalizing on pitting chefs against each other, just for fun. After the four-team hot dog fest  involving the guys from 28 HongKong Street, Rosita’s Deluxe and The Cajun Kings this weekend, they’ll be hosting a Bangkok Jerk-Off come May 24.

Artichoke’s chef Bjorn Shen will be whipping up his new brand of Thai food with dishes like som tum, gai yang wings, pork belly and sticky rice. He’s been focusing on his soon-to-open chicken-focused Thai eatery Bird Bird, which has been popping up around town.

This time round, the contender is Chef Tim Ross-Watson, a consulting chef who’s been in the kitchens of Potato Head Folk and the now-defunct Life is Beautiful. He’ll be cooking up Caribbean signatures like the spicy jerk chicken, BBQ corn and pork ribs, as well as fried plantains.

The event will start at 5:30pm at Artichoke and operate on a first-come-first-serve basis.
