This August, check out wine events like a midnight Champagne brunch and a unique wine, food and perfume meal.
Start the month with the Pinot Noir Wine Pairing (August 1), which includes pairings such as olive oil poached cod with 2011 Urlar Pinot Noir, plus cherry almond ice cream with Wolfberger Cremant d’Alsace Rose.
The next day, there’s the American Peranakan Wine Dinner (August 2) that includes combinations like grilled king prawn with tamarind sambal and 2008 DeLoach OFS Pinot Noir, as well as slow-cooked pig’s trotter with 2010 Anakena ONA Premium.
After that, check out Bubbly & Brunch Under The Stars (August 16), a midnight brunch session that includes free-flow Chandon Brut NV plus morning meals like eggs benedict, french toast and lobster rolls. DJ Kane Ian will play smooth grooves throughout the night.
Later, there’s the Golden Peony Epicurean Dinner featuring Konrad Wines (August 29), where you can taste Chinese dishes like baked fillet of sea perch with X.O sauce paired with New Zealand tipples like Konrad Marlborough Gewurztraminer.
And the month comes to a close with the Old World Spice and Wine Tasting Experience (August 31), featuring tapas infused with diverse regional spices and herbs (think Moroccan, Indian or Chinese) paired with complimentary wines. Bespoke perfumer Nora Gasparini will also be on hand to create customized scents for guests.
