Where to brunch for Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day around the corner, it’s time to treat the special lady in your life to something decadent. brunches and lunches around town.

For Asian flavors…

Aquamarine
May 8-10: Tuck into a buffet spread piled high with lobster popiah, baked jumbo prawn with sambal, herbal braised duck with lotus bun and even durian pengat. This restaurant is one of the places doing dinners, too. May 8-10 dinner, $88; May 9-10 brunch, $68 per person.

Indocafe
May 10: Here, it’s all about Peranakan nonya food. On the brunch buffet menu are specials like pasembu, a nyonya-style rojak; ayam panggang; and rempah itek, braised spiced duck. Plus mom gets a box of Peranakan-inspired pralines to take home. $48 per person. 

Lime
May 3, 7, 10, 24, 31: If your mom loves Peranakan food, head straight here. The buffet brunch has got tables full of nonya laksa with slipper lobster, but also Western dishes like pan-seard foie gras with vanilla fleur de sel. $108 per person.

For something alternative…

NOX Dine in the Dark
May 10: For an alternative experience, head to this restaurant that truly tests your senses (aside from eyesight, of course). They’ve whipped up a two- and three-course set lunch with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and petit fours. The menu here is a surprise, so this one’s better for adventurous moms. $68 for two-course, $88 for three course.

O Comptoir
May 10: Just in case mom has a sweet tooth, this creperie rolls out a French crepe brunch where you get to make your own crepe creation, have a sweet dessert, as well as enjoy a glass of sparkling wine to go with. $32 per person.

For moms who love wines and cocktails…

Osteria Mozza
May 10: Mario Batali’s fine dining offshoot has a Sunday Bellini brunch for all the moms who like a good tipple. It’s all about Italian classics like grilled chopped wagyu beef crostone and goat cheese ravioli, topped with a Bellini, of course. 

Ritz-Carlton Millenia
May 10: Nothing says decadence like a vintage Champagne brunch. On offer are stations full of seafood, meat carvings, pan-fried foie gras and tons of cheese. Oh, and free flow Louis Roederer Brut Vintage 2008 and Brut Rose 2009. There will also be a live band, too. $148 per person. 

Senso
May 10: The Italian restaurant is famed for their brunches and Mother’s Day is no different. There’s cod fish with grilled veggies, butter-poached crawfish and spanich fettuccine, among other Italian favorites. You’ll also get free flow Prosecco and wines. $118 with free flow alcohol per person.

For Western flavors…

Alkaff Mansion Ristorante
May 10: The picturesque hilltop restaurant rolls out a Prosecco brunch with dishes of cuttlefish salad with Sardinian bottarga, a whole roasted lamb and Sicilian eggplant parmigiana on the menu. $98 with free flow Prosecco and house wines per person

Bedrock Bar & Grill
May 9-10: If mom’s more of a carnivore, this steakhouse is serving plates of confit chicken with beethroot has, as well as a baked barramundi fillet with sea asparagus. The three-course lunch also comes with starters of lobster bisque and desserts like a classic chocolate tart. $38.

Catalunya
May 10: The bayside Spanish restaurant has added a special touch to their brunch. Tuck into a spread of Spanish brunch items like Segovian suckling pig and seafood paella, but mom also gets a spcial gift set with lots of beauty products from brands like Laura Mercier. $148 per person.

Sabio by the Sea
May 10: If a leisurely brunch is more your thing, this Spanish tapas bar at Quayside Isle has a four-course brunch with lots of Spanish staples. And if you’re quick enough to book a table, your mum could dine for free. $48 per person.

Saint Pierre
May 10: This fine French restaurant with a new breezy terrace also serves up a Sunday brunch with all-you-can-eat starters and sides. The menu includes dishes like roasted sakura chicken with rosemary-lemon-mushroom dressing and seabass with wild herbs and tomato fondue. Sides and starters include prawn cocktail, cumin and saffron risotto, as well as ikura with baby cos. $88 per person.

Una
May 10: The star of the show is the brunch spread that includes seafood like oysters and king crabs, figs with ricotta cheese, beef carving station and Spanish-tinged brunch items like the Spanish tortilla with prawns and aioli and baked eggs. All moms also get a special flower bouquet from the pop-up shop. $108 without alcohol; $158 with free flow cava, wines per person.

The White Rabbit
May 10:
The chic restaurant turns into a decadent buffet restasurant with a seafood bar full of Maine lobsters and oysters, as well as carving stations of prime ribs, roasted Iberico pork loin and grilled spatchcock. $118 per person, additional $79 for free flow wine.
