Step aside, churros. Salted egg yolk croissants are now taking Singapore by storm, with fans snapping up the pastries at Favour Flings cafe in Hougang within minutes.
The trend, which supposedly came from Hong Kong, caused a frenzy across the causeway when it made its debut at Le Bread Bakery in Kuala Lumpur. As of now, these buttery bites of molten lava are only available in limited quantities at Flavour Flings, but Paris-style tea salon Antoinette is jumping on the demand.
Come Monday, the Penhas outlet will be launching a limited run of the salted yolk lava croissant at 11am. And from what we heard, it may be worth queueing for as the pastries are baked using a special recipe by celebrated chef Pang Kok Keong.
