12-inch Pizzas & Records

The buzz: The latest venture from the Timbre folk focuses on one of the things they’re best known for: pizza.

The vibe: As you’d expect of any Timbre outlet, 12-inch Pizzas & Records is a laidback spot with (you guessed it) wooden furniture and for color, splashes of bright orange. There’s also a collection of old school 12-inch vinyls close to the entrance, complete with a turntable of course.

The food: Without a doubt, the highlight’s got to be their thin-crust pizzas (from $14); we dare say they’re better than those at Timbre. If you’re a Timbre regular, you’ll probably recognize a good part of the over 20 different flavor combos menu, but there are a few creations exclusive to 12-inch, including black pepper crab ($19) and Jai Ho—slices of lamb kebab, zucchini, tomato topped with papadum (also $19). Feeling indecisive? Then do a half-and-half pizza for $24. In addition, starters like seared watermelon salad ($6) and Great Balls of Fire—beef meatballs with cheese smothered in spicy pomodoro sauce ($10) and mains like seafood aglio olio ($18) and fish & chips ($16) are available as well.

The drinks: Pretty basic stuff, think beers like Tiger ($11) and Kirin ($12) and Chilean house wines, both red and white, starting from $12.

Why we’ll be back: For slice upon slice of thin-crust goodness, what else? And the music’s not half bad either.
