Addictions Café & Remedy Bar

The buzz: The busiest restaurant site in Dempsey wouldn’t be complete without a catch-all café and yes, casual seven-week-old Addictions Cafe is it.

The vibe: Indoors, it’s a sparse space with muted tones. Mossy green tiles cover the walls, blending in with the garden-like surrounds. But sit outdoors and find a much more psychedelic atmosphere.

The food: There’s nothing too challenging here, just crowd-pleasing dishes like the starter Crab About You ($18), featuring almond-crusted soft shell crab on a bed of spinach and fennel. Mains run the gamut of Japanese-inspired salmon soba ($24) and Gal-Bi, Baby! ($33)—Korean short ribs with citrus-scented cous cous—to local classics, including a rendition of mee siam ($18) made luxe with some jumbo prawns. Desserts are always-welcomed standbys such as the Triple Chocolate Threat ($12)—chocolate marquise, ganache and molten cake.

The drinks: Indulge in boozy shakes like the Cookie Monster ($16), a mix of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, rum and milk.

Why you’ll be back: The range of their globally-inspired eats is enough to rival any country club café’s. So even if your dining party has diverse tastes, everyone leaves happy.

Addictions is currently available for private parties, but no longer available for walk-ins.
