Aquadisiac

The hype has died down considerably since this underwater world in a restaurant opened as Nude Supperclub. The entrance is via the shopping mall, which doesn’t do it any favors, but once inside you are ensconced in candlelight, with chandeliers, massive Buddha heads, and sharks prowling the sweeping arc of a huge fish tank. When we arrived, there was only one other occupied table, and the music from the bar next door was competing with the restaurant’s more chillout tunes. The menu is extensive and focuses on seafood. The aloe vera and pomelo salad was particularly light and refreshing with its mint vinaigrette, and the lamb rack with red peppers and artichokes was spot on and excellent. We were also pleased with the bouillabaisse, which came with two lobsters in a lovely white wine, tomato and saffron soup. We ended the meal on a high note with the lemongrass crème brulee, and sadly a really below-average tiramisu. If we’re in the area, we’ll go back, but let’s hope the groovy vibe returns—to entertain the sharks at least.
