Barnacles Restaurant

Set by the beach and decorated in cool hues of blue and a nautical theme throughout, this idyllic Mediterranean restaurant has a number of alfresco tables for two and an indoor dining room. Most tables have a lovely view of the sea and not surprisingly, the alfresco and window seats go first. And the food—seafood, grilled meats and a nice vegetarian selection—is good all round. Our seafood—half a dozen fin de Claire oysters and tiger prawns provencale, were really fresh, fat and juicy; and our meats—beef tenderloin and mixed grill (beef, lamb and duck)–were yummy too. For drinks, there are colorful tropical cocktails and mocktails to choose from, befitting the seaside ambiance perfectly. There was a glitch with our reservation when we showed up but once that was sorted out, the servers took really good care of us for the rest of our evening—so no complaints about the service all in all. This restaurant is definitely good but not exceptional enough to make you want to haul yourself to Sentosa just to come here. Although if you are planning a trip to the island anyway, we’d recommend this as a great place for a meal.
