Botak Jones

By Jones! It’s another Botak joint! That might have been your reaction (it was ours) when you realize that Bernie Utchenik’s mini Botak Jones empire has reached good old Bedok. Having recently tried the humongous servings of authentic American grub at his other outlets, we decided to check this one out and it passed our taste test with flying colors. We were in the mood for something spicy, so we had the mozzarella stuffed jalapenos which were tasty and hearty, and definitely had some kick. The signature Cajun chicken was exactly as delicious as it had been at other Botak Jones outlets. The only letdown was the apple pie—it was powdery and didn’t have enough apple in it. On the bright side, service was pretty fast and typically laidback where the waiters chat with you freely. The only snag was that the dinner queue was very long, so it helps to come early, but once you place your order, you are served in a jiffy. If you’re in the area and craving great‑tasting, unpretentious food in a relaxed setting, Botak Jones is definitely it.
