Cafe Melba (Mediapolis)

Singapore’s first digital media hub, Mediapolis@One-North welcomes the second Cafe Melba outlet, featuring a similar outdoor area, a welcoming interior and Australasian food offerings by Tadcaster’s group executive chef Kacey Whaitiri-Roberts.

This space was conceptualized by Australian designer Emma Maxwell, who takes visual cues from Australia’s landscape to create a laid-back environment that’s ideal for a nice reprieve from the daily grind, keeping sustainability in mind. Design elements include a copper colored ceiling which consists of layers of bespoke recycled metal plates, the grey and pink geometric concrete tiles, solid oak tables and chairs with recycled wool.

Besides staple dishes like the Eggs Benedict and Chicken Parmigiana, they also serve up the signature Melba Burger ($25), a juicy Australian beef patty with a spread of bacon jam, Swiss cheese, picked beetroot and pineapple, squashed between two warm buns; Mozzarella Stuffed Potato Rosti ($16) served with poached eggs, creme faiche and mesclun if you’re looking for a vegetarian option (there are others, too); and even local offerings like their take on the beef rendang, which comes with either warm quinoa or fries.
