The Daily Cut

The buzz: This salad joint located in the heart of the CBD prides itself on being “the carnivore’s answer to salads”—it serves up protein-rich fare catered towards gym bunnies and health nuts.

The vibe: Clean, minimalistic and brightly-lit, with a couple of wooden tables for dine-in patrons (the space sits 24). It’s chiefly a takeaway joint, though. And if eating clean isn’t enough to make you feel nice and wholesome, your food comes packaged in cardboard boxes and brown paper bags as well—you’ll walk away feeling positively virtuous.

The food: Custom-made salads are the order of the day here—you first choose a base protein (options include salmon, chicken thigh, sirloin steak, turkey breast and tofu) before selecting complex carbs (think sweet potato, brown rice and more), toppings (we highly recommend the sous vide egg and quinoa) and light dressings (like honey mustard, barbecue and mint). The salads come in three sizes: regular ($12 upwards), large ($15), and the aptly-named beast ($18).

The drinks: Don’t expect calorie-laden sodas, liquor and the like here—instead, there’s uber-fashionable coconut water, bottled water, juices and more (but of course).

Why you’ll be back: You’ll definitely be back again and again if you’re a yoga freak or gym-brah and don’t want to get derailed from your #eatclean diet.
