The Disgruntled Brasserie

It was big news when we learned that Chef Daniel Sia was walking away from The Disgruntled Chef branch at The Club. While he retains ownership of the branch over at Dempsey, the one on Ann Siang has undergone a revamp and now sports a more casual, brasserie-like vibe and menu, probably more appealing to a wider range of hotel guests.

The 40-seater has sofa seats lined along the walls, potted plants and some wood panelling on the wall, so we’re glad the place is as warm as cozy as ever. A retro feel comes from pictures of local street hawkers all over the walls. Foodwise, there’s an all-day dining menu, with a selection of a high tea set ($18), where you can choose from dishes like deviled eggs, mini Shepherd’s Pie and mini smoked chicken. For a proper meal, there’s the signature lobster thermidor ($56) and the foie gras beef burger ($28).
