Highlander (Chijmes)

The second outlet of this Scottish restaurant and bar in the courtyard basement of this historic building is all about manly food like Scotch eggs, lamb chops and haddock-laced tattie scones. Fear not, there are lighter touches found in crab truffle toasties and whisky-doused prawns. The drinks are a little more discerning, with an extensive list of whiskies, whisky cocktails, beers and wines.

The quintessentially Scottish decor (cue the reindeer heads, tartans and wood-heavy interiors) is given a modern twist. It’s is a great after-work and late night hangout with the kitchen open until the wee hours of the morning. There’s also a live band playing every night.
