Chef Chan Hon Meng, owner of Michelin-starred Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle, has joined forces with Hersing Culinary to open a restaurant, a stone’s throw away from the original hawker stall at Chinatown Food Centre. The restaurant will have a new automated ordering system installed and serve the same few dishes that earned the establishment its Michelin star.
You can enjoy dishes like the soya sauce chicken rice ($3.80), soya sauce chicken noodle ($4.50), char siew rice ($4) and other roast delights. The prices have been bumped up slightly, but you’ll get to tuck into the renowned disdhes in the comfort of an air-conditioned space instead of sweating it out at the food center. There are also a few sides you can order like their soya bean sprouts ($3) and Thai-style tofu ($5). Wash it all down with their Chinese flower tea or a glass of Tiger Beer.
