Kagurasake

Specializing in Japanese-European cuisine paired with wine, sake and whisky, Kagurasake is one of a very small handful of excellent Japanese options on Duxton Hill. The elegant, gray-and-beige space fills up most nights of the week with Japanese businessmen and a few adventurous Singaporean foodies, many congregating at the bar where they start with a drink or two and a bevy of bar snacks. The requisite fresh fish from Tsukiji Market aside, the menu comprises an exciting selection of dishes you have probably never had before: prawn and vegetable with miso bagna cauda, Japanese eggplant with Parmesan cheese, and other fusion-inspired dishes. Be sure to start out with sake and their selection of snacks like uni with onsen egg and raw octopus with wasabi.
