Kyomomoyama

If you have been to The Central, you would probably notice that this riverside mall is riddled with retail and dining outlets with a strong Japanese focus. We headed to the unassuming Kyomomoyama, just because there wasn’t any long queue in front of the restaurant. The menu is quite extensive with a wide range of sashimi, sushi, and other Japanese food staples, and reasonably priced set meals. The sashimi salad was surprisingly yummy especially with the generous serving of fresh assorted sashimi topped off with a light wasabi-mayonnaise dressing. The maguro yamakake don-tuna and mountain yam with vinegared rice—was gobsmackingly good, with tuna so fresh it could have been flopping around right before being served to us. The unagi don, grilled eel on rice, was simply divine. With the yummy and fresh food at this joint, not to mention the very good service, you can be sure that we will be visiting Kyomomoyama again very soon.
