Frenchman Laurent Bernard has done so well for himself that he’s now got a second outlet at Portsdown Road. We still favor the original branch though, Robertson Quay’s infinitely more accessible—and there’s better people watching. Skip their crispy chocolate tart (previously our old go-to, but we’ve since resigned ourselves to their gradual deterioration) in favor of their soufflés, and grab some chocs to go (if only for the Tiffany & Co.-esque boxes which always make an impression).
