The buzz: A hip bakery, bistro and bar housed in the Tanglin Post Office.

The vibe: It’s an airy, casual space that channels industrial minimalist with pale gray concrete flooring, wooden furniture and a counter displaying baked goods like breads and cakes all made in-house.

The food: If you’re in the mood for brekkie, you’ll be pleased to know that their breakfast menu’s available from 8am till 5pm and sports items like smoked salmon omelet ($18) and almond brioche French toast ($10). You’ll also find sandwiches such as grilled Cajun chicken ($13) and Hot Reuben ($16), corned beef with melted Emmental and sauerkraut on their signature Grimbergen Ambrée beer bread. More filling options include Grimbergen Blanche Fish and Chips ($20) and meatballs served with a bread basket ($22), as well as the standard pastas (from $15) and pizzas (from $20).

The drinks: They’re all about Grimbergen beer and are one of only two spots in town to offer these Belgian-style brews on tap (the other’s their sibling bar 1128 just a few steps away). Choose from Blanche, Blonde and Ambrée (all $10 for 250ml) and if you’re game, you can even pour your own (just let the friendly wait staff know so they can give you a few tips).

Why you’ll be back: For those times when you’re looking for a chill spot in town with bistro fare, plus it’s great fun to pull your own beer.
