The Orange Lantern

We continue to be surprised by the dearth of really good Vietnamese restaurants in this town. Trying to find somewhere that can do a decent pho (rice noodle soup) is almost impossible. In the last few years The Orange Lantern has managed to stay open for business selling quite a typical pho restaurant menu. Although we’ve found the food at their Harbourfront Centre inconsistent, the Killiney Road outlet has always steadily served above average cuisine. The day we visited was typically quiet which meant service was swift and the food arrived within minutes. Our Vietnamese spring rolls were fresh and tasty while our chicken and beef pho) came out piping hot with a tasty soup, the usual condiments and, most importantly, noodles that were cooked just right. We’re happy The Orange Lantern is still going strong, as it gives passionate pho lovers another choice in this very limited market.
