Overeasy

This bar-cum-eatery in One Fullerton is the latest venture by the cool kids who brought us rooftop bar Loof and hip Dempsey spot, The White Rabbit. And just like in those two venues, no effort was spared in the food, look, and feel at Overeasy Bar & Diner. The interior (designed by Takenouchi Webb) has an industrial feel—from its cast concrete bar to the red diner booth seating—and puts a funky twist on the classic American diner. We particularly like its alfresco area that is just perfect for an after work tipple.

The food here is pretty good too. Devised by Travis Masiero and the owners, you can expect a mouthwatering spread of American cuisine and brunch classics. Our starter of grilled vegetables with mozzarella cheese was excellent—grilled to perfection and with just enough dressing—but we think it could have been better if they had used fresh mozzarella pearls instead of huge chunks of cheese.

The “to-die-for” burger was … well, to die for. The homemade patty came the way we ordered it (medium) and was just so flavorful.

We adjourned outdoors for our dessert of raspberry sorbet with fresh berries and mint, which performed up to expectations; and rounded up the night with a Seaside Sangria and Singapore Sling. Service was polite enough, but it was rather hard getting the staff’s attention at times due to the eatery’s large capacity. Food took a while to reach our table too, but it was worth the wait. This will definitely be a hotspot in Singapore, if it isn’t already.
