Taking over a three-storey pre-war shophouse at Owen Road, The Palmary is a fusion dining concept that combines a restaurant, lounge and VIP room. On the first floor, the restaurant’s decor is light and clean, with the same monochromatic tiles and trailing greenery reminiscent of classic cafe settings.
The menu itself is equally no-frills and inspired by a mix of local and European cuisines. For appetizers, there’s Just Wing It ($9.90), in-house deep-fried prawn paste chicken wings; Signature Rendang Fries ($8.90); and Foie Gras with Citrus Jelly ($15.90). Mains, too, are affordable—rare cuts of meat and organic cha soba with braised cod fish go for less than $30, called The Butcher’s Cut ($24.90) and Soba So Good ($17.90) respectively.
On the second floor, a mirrored hallway leads to the lounge and the VIP room, where a curated range of cocktails, wines and craft beers are on hand to end the night on a good note.
