The hype: Formerly known as Wan Bar + Kitchen, the revamped Route 65 Bar + Kitchen now offers a refreshed look as well as contemporary Asian cuisine. The adjoining nightclub section has also shifted to Suntec City’s rooftop level, and in its place now stands a live music entertainment offering.
The vibe: With the club no longer housed in the same venue, the dim interiors have been stripped away. It leaves behind a brighter and more modern space, easily accommodating large groups of guests at a go.
The food: It’s really all about elevating local classics here. For instance, the Cheesy Lobster Carrot Cake ($20) doesn’t stinge on the seafood, and gives the usual hawker dish more texture and flavour thanks to the side of cheesy belacan sauce and addition of pork floss.

Then there’s the Grilled Half Spring Chicken Panggang ($16), which features a generous hunk of bird glazed with a sweet and spicy sauce, replicating everyone’s favourite ayam panggang.
An unmissable order has got to be the Superstar Beef Rendang ($25), a restaurant signature that lives up to expectations. Find a juicy and tender beef short rib braised for 24 hours in a secret sauce and served with nasi goreng belacan for a filling and satisfying meal.
The drinks: Alcoholic bubble tea served in Insta-worthy inflatable beverage floats continue to excite at Route 65, with boba cocktails like the saccharine Childhood Sweetheart ($15) and the thirst-quenching It’s Complicated ($15). For regular coffee, tea and alcohol-based drinks, just check with the bar.
Why you’ll be back: Post-revamp, this trendy venue is not only a good spot to feast on your favourites, but one to pre-eat, drink and jam to tunes too. Afterall, its club counterpart is located just a few floors above.
